I was born in Houston Texas, and raised by my loving grandmother, who empowered me to dream big and pursue my passions. Her encouragement inspired me to dedicate my life to helping others. I hold both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Sociology, the study of human behavior, which has profoundly shaped my career and mission.
As a Professor of Sociology, I have the privilege of teaching students to understand the world and their role in it. Beyond teaching, my passion lies in empowering families and communities through financial aid consulting and community advocacy. Inspired by my grandmother’s charitable spirit and my two college graduate children, I am dedicated to creating opportunities for others to succeed.
